233 Photography Club consists of people from all walks of life–distinct individuals.
In a former life, Yasuhiro Ito was a racer.
The bike racer Kazuya Hoshino and the car racer Taiki Nakada were on hand to give a talk at the exhibition.
Mr. Ichigou is a dancer.
As a member of the Yokohama Yosakoi team “Buyo Koujo“, he appears at various regional events.
Emi is a maker of “kiri-hari”, a mix of kiri-e(cut-out art) and hari-e (collage).
With their art, they create a fleeting, delicate world.
Asharin Yoshioka is a recitation artist.
She also takes photos of things around her that resemble faces.
The three members of the photo unit “Asian Hanabi Shoujou” (Asian fireworks schoolgirls)
This original art exhibition,Design Festa Vol. 37, features works made by artists from very different walks of life.
And then there is me, Osamu Iwamatsu. I take photos of places where First Nations people live.
In contrast to his light-hearted personality, Mr. Iwamatsu takes photos resplendent with beauty and splendor.
222 Photography Club members stamp out individual works for submission to Gallery Setagaya 233, but when you think about it, these highly individual works together comprise a bona fide piece of art, the gallery itself.
Because 233 Photography Club nurtures these kinds of friendships, it is a source of great happiness for me.
※The 233 Photography Club 2013 Exhibition will be held at the Setagaya 233 Gallery from November 3rd.
