Stroll through the parks and gardens

(Montmartre – Paris – Samsung Galaxy S4zoom)

In Paris and the Paris region, there are lots of parks and gardens; I love wandering through them, strolling, and watching what’s happening around me!
In Paris, I am particularly fond of the Tuileries Gardens. In each season, the scenes and the vegetation change, and it’s lovely to be able to surround myself in greenery away from traffic and noise.

I can wander around for hours and pass through all the little corners of the garden. I can idle away time on a park bench and watch life pass along under my eyes…Couples take some time out to enjoy the fine weather, children play, lovers walk along hand in hand…

This autumn, I visited the Parc de Sceaux on the periphery of Paris. This massive park features long and wide avenues bordered by immense trees.
This green space perfectly symbolizes the beautiful French gardens of the 17th century. There are multitudes of gardens, open views onto natural vistas, wide green expanses, water fountains, ponds, and canals that harmonize with the layout of the park.
This historic site is a place full of life and enchantment, and it’s the opportunity to have a beautiful Sunday stroll.
This is also a park that changes greatly across the seasons… In the Springtime, all the trees are in bloom. I will really have to get back there soon to see this beautiful spectacle of color.

The famous Trocadéro Garden; famous, very popular among both photographers and tourists. From this garden, we have a direct view on the “Grand Dame”, the Eiffel Tower.
A series of cascading pools dominates a large pool where water cannons form fifty-six jets that end up flowing down eight staircases of water.
This is always a marvelous spectacle. It’s a spot where there are always wonderful sights to capture on film! The sloping passages that border the pools are perfect for skateboarders, in-line skaters, longboard riders, cyclists, etc…during those hot days of summer. Both tourists and locals cool off at these pools.

The Jardin des Plantes is the botanical garden of Paris. It’s a lovely place to take a walk with the family. People of all ages can discover hundreds of varieties of plants and flowers. I particularly love the view from this alley bordered by plane trees that leads to the grand gallery of evolution.

I believe that it is the gardens of the Château de Versailles that are the most visited by tourists in Paris. Somewhere between splendor and excess, they are the universal example of the French garden, and they were planned by the master gardener André Le Nôtre, the official gardener for King Louis XIV. The gardens feature extremely rigorous symmetry, and their geometry fascinates me and always makes for marvelous photography.
This is a place I love to return to often to stroll and revisit the ponds and all of the beautifully designed lanes.
I hope I have entertained you with this story about the parks and gardens of Paris, so if you have the chance to come and visit, make sure to take time out to discover them. They are truly marvelous and you won’t be disappointed.
