I’ll tell you a little about Joey and Joey’s Instagram and then I’ll get onto why I actually started an Instagram for Joey.
Joey is 8 months old his birthday is on the 17th of December 2013. Joey is a fawn red Shar Pei who lives in England, Essex with his biological parents (Poppy and Teddy) as well as his humans (Jayme and Bobby). Joey’s Instagram (@SharpeiJoey) currently has 33,582 followers and counting and 232 posts. I post on Joey’s Instagram once or twice a day maximum.
Why I started Joey’s Instagram:
At first I had my own Instagram before I even had Joey so I already knew what it was all about and how to use it which was helpful. Once I got Joey he was so adorable and cute that I couldn’t help but take hundreds of pictures of him using my Iphone. Then I started to add them onto my own personal account. After a while of adding many pictures onto my account I came up with the idea to make Joey his own instagram so people around the world could watch him grow with me and admire him as much as I did. I added my first picture of Joey (which was a flash back Friday picture) and relised that he gained a follower straight away and a couple of likes which got me even more excited so I carried on for a couple months adding many pictures when I got the time.
At first the quality of my pictures wasn’t the best as I was only using my phone which was an Iphone 5C but once we became popular I started to use my camera (Nikon D3000) to try and capture the best images I could, I actually took photography in school for 5 years so I had a rough idea about photography and editing which helped a little to make my pictures better.
Once Joey’s instagram got popular I wanted to try and add posts now and then raising awareness of the Shar Pei breed as many people see his pictures and always comment saying ‘i want one’ because of how cute Shar Pei’s are as puppiess but never know any of the health issues that revolve around this breed. We were lucky enough to have my boyfriend’s parents around to help us as they own Joey’s biological parents and know everything you need to know about Shar Pei’s.
