Finally, after gloomy months without sun and warmth which felt like an eternity, the sun is out again, filling my heart, my soul, and my flower bed with joy and a hunger for life. The young buds on the small, sprouting plants light up my otherwise barren and dull-looking roofgarden with bright colors. I am mesmerized by the lure of the fresh, flowery scent of tulips, hyacinths, and hydrangeas coming to life. Therefore, seeing as they were such a source of joy for me, I didn’t hesitate to gather some of these for my living room; and this morning, armed with scissors and a vase, I went into action and cut a few of my snow-white tulips.
The flowers on their own are already an eye-catcher, but today’s creative woman naturally likes to up the ante. So here are my step-by-step instructions for a perfect feeling of spring for your living room (or any other room in your home):
Cut the plants, get a trendy vase, and please don’t forget: Dye for the water – if you cannot get hold of any, I can also recommend blue ink – and then into the vase with them, adding a generous dash of the dye to the water.
Now, not only do you have a piece of nature in your home, but also a colored eye-catcher, which will blend in nicely with the style of the rest of your living space.
Last, but not least, the final step: Place the vase in an easily visible position so you are always able to steal a glance at this floral treat.
